Technical explanation of the diagrams
Type: Type of OKASOLAR being referred to in the diagram. Clear glass indicates that no OKASOLAR is used. By comparing the curves for OKASOLAR and clear glass, the shading performance of OKASOLAR can be appreciated.
Orientation: Indicates the orientation of the glazing. North = 0°, East = 90°, South=180°, West = 270° etc.
Inclination: Indicates the inclination of the glazing from the horizon. Horizontally = 0°, vertically = 90°.
Turn: Indicates the turn of the OKASOLAR louvers. OKASOLAR-Type I = 0°,
type II = 90°, type III = 180°, type IV = 270°.
Latitude: Indicates the terrestrial latitude of the location. The sun curves depend on the latitude.

Example A:
This area is hatched - at this time, part of the direct sunlight shines through the louvers of OKASOLAR.
On the 16th of April and the 28th of August the sun is at this position at 7 am solar time (c.f. labels at the sun curves).
The sun position is in the east (c.f. scale on top). The solar altitude is about 18° (c.f. scale on left). |
Example B:
This area is not hatched - at this time direct sunlight is blocked by OKASOLAR .
On the 21st of May and the 24th of July the sun is at this position at 2 pm solar time (c.f. labels at the sun curves).
The sun position is in the south-west (c.f. scale on top). The solar altitude is about 50° (c.f. scale on left). |
