History
|
Since the 1960s, SCHOTT has accumulated the expertise in crystal growing and created synthetic silica glass. In 1996, SCHOTT Spezialglas acquired the first crystal growing plant in Eisenberg. Two years later, consistent growth prompted the establishment of SCHOTT LITHOTEC with its headquarters in Jena. Continued market development led to the expansion of SCHOTT LITHOTEC – in 2000 and 2001 respectively, the second and third crystal growing plants were set up in Jena.

SCHOTT LITHOTEC, a division of the high tech company SCHOTT in Mainz, offers optical high-tech materials, for various applications in lithography and optics of today, tomorrow and beyond, such as Calcium Fluoride Crystals (193 nm), Fused Silica LITHOSIL® (248, 193 nm), ZERODUR® (glass ceramic material with zero thermal expansion), i-line glass (365 nm) as well as i-line interference filter and wafer (precision polished substrates). Therefore, SCHOTT LITHOTEC is active in various advanced industries and a driving force in the further development of the semiconductor industry.
