History

“Guinchard Verre Optique” was founded in 1968 and first specialized in blanks such as cut disks and rods, as well as instrument glasses for avionics. The product range soon broadened to include plane-parallel polished substrates, cylinder lenses, aspheres, and coated components.
In 1998, it relocated to its present location at the Scientific and Technologic Park of Yverdon-Les-Bains.
In 2000, the company joined the SCHOTT Group and became known as SCHOTT Guinchard SA and today, SCHOTT Suisse SA, Yverdon is a competence centre for optical components within the SCHOTT group.
Products and Applications
SCHOTT in Yverdon is a renowned supplier of quality components such as aspherical and cylindrical lenses, high precision machined blanks, plane-parallel substrates, thin film coatings, assemblies and mounted products. All products from SCHOTT in Yverdon are customer-specific according to clients’ needs.
The large inventory of optical raw materials as well as the availability of high performance machines allows SCHOTT to start production immediately after receipt of an order. Complex shapes and very precise tolerances as requested by the customers can also be met.
Key markets of the products include industrial applications such as laser systems, opto-mechanical applications, metrology and medical applications, optoelectronic applications, the aeronautics industry, as well as the watch industry.
