SCHOTT to Present Innovations in Infrared Glasses at DSS
SCHOTT will present multispectral applications, IR preforms and molding capabilities, and advances in IR ceramics
SCHOTT Defense and SCHOTT Advanced Optics, North America will exhibit infrared (IR) glass innovations at SPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing (DSS) 2014 in Baltimore. Through presentations at SCHOTT’s booth, product demonstrations and a workshop, SCHOTT will address how advances in IR glass are enabling new advantages in defense applications by reducing the size, weight, and power of military imaging systems.
SCHOTT’s IRG materials are ideal for integration in and expansion of optics in defense applications in thermal imaging to include night vision goggles, thermal cameras, targeting systems, which offer excellent transmission in the near IR (NIR), shortwave IR (SWIR), midwave IR (MWIR), and longwave IR (LWIR) ranges. In addition, SCHOTT’s multispectral chalcogenide glasses (IRGX) facilitate the design of single-aperture multispectral optics that can further reduce the size and weight of defense imaging systems.
