Precision Molded Aspherical Lenses
Product Information
|
Precision molding enables the mass production of aspherical lenses. These high performance aspherical lenses are often used in optical elements which eliminate monochromatic aberrations (e.g. spherical aberration) and hence lead to a better overall image quality.
In addition, aspherical lenses can be used to replace a multi-spherical element assembly, which leads to overall weight reduction and therefore a more compact design.
|
Benefits
|
Due to the unique advantages associated with the use of aspherical lenses, the overall lens system has improved quality as well as reduced weight and size.
Other benefits include:
- Strong consultative support from application team
- Customized lenses produced according to customers' requirements
- High accuracy because of reduction in weight and a more compact design
- Improved collimating accuracy
|
Key Applications
|
Aspherical lenses are suited for use in both industrial and consumer optics:
Industrial Optics:
- Binoculars
- Microscopy (eye-piece lenses for microscopes)
- Sports Optics (rifle sight)
- Sensors
Consumer Optics:
- Digital Projection
- Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras (DSLR)
- Digital Still Cameras (DSC)
- Camcorders
|
Forms of Supply
|
Standard forms of supply are as follows:
- Lens diameter: 1,5 – 35 mm
- Lens thickness: 0,5 – 10 mm
- Radius of curvature convex: > 3 mm
- Radius of curvature concave: > 5 mm
In addition, our experienced application team looks forward to supporting our customers in terms of developing customized moldable aspherical lens designs. Please contact us for further information.

Quality Assurance
|
Our quality control is based on statistical process control, as well as on a rigorous final inspection. Measuring instruments used include 2D and 3D aspheric profile measurement systems, an interferometer, and an atomic force microscope.
