Plane-parallel (plano-plano) polished substrates
SCHOTT Advanced Optics is a specialist in the production of thick or thin plane parallel polished substrates of the highest precision. Over the years we have developed very high expertise in the technique of flat polishing and achieved excellent quality in surface roughness, flatness and cosmetic surface properties. We produce polished substrates according to customers’ drawings and specifications, according to ISO 10110 and MIL specs
For less demanding products, transparent substrates with fire-polished surfaces (out of drawn glass) can be used (D 263T, BOROFLOAT®, etc.)
A specific advantage we can offer our customers is our in-house coating and sub-assembly capabilities.

Characteristics:

- Windows, mirrors, plates, filters, color filters, test glasses, protection windows, polarizers
- Dimensions: diameter or inscribed rectangle: 2 to 680 mm polishing capability, minimal thickness 0.1 to 0.7 mm, depending on size
- Thickness tolerance : up to ± 0.005 mm.
- High surface quality (e.g. MIL 10-2 or ISO 5/ 1X 0.01)
- Excellent surface flatness (e.g. λ /10 in WFE or ISO 3/0.2, up to lambda/4 P-V on 100 mm diameter
- Excellent Parallelism: 0,001 mm on 100 mm diameter (till 2 arcsec)
- Roughness P4: up to < 0.7 nm Rq (0.4 nm Rq on request, depending on size and material)

Quality Assurance:
|
Our quality control is based on auto-inspection during the production process and 100% final inspection.
Surface quality inspection with 200x microscopes. Roughness measurement with White Light Interferometer (0,1 nm Rq accuracy)
Interferometer measurements for flatness are routinely conducted (300 mm diameter interferogram, lambda/10 accuracy, stitching software allowing measurements up to diameter 600 mm)
Clean room capability for final inspection and packing.
