ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY GLASS WITH HIGH TRANSMITTANCE
AF 32® eco is an alkali-free flat glass manufactured by SCHOTT using a special down-draw method that the company developed on its own. This makes it possible to manufacture products of between 0.03 mm and 1.1 mm in thickness.
Its fire-polished surface results in a low roughness value. Furthermore, the coefficient of thermal expansion of AF 32® eco is the same as that of silicon. For this reason, it is perfectly suited for use as an optical packaging material in the semiconductor industry. Due to its high transformation temperature, it can be used in high-temperature applications of up to approx. 600 °C.
AF 32® eco is available in various wafer formats and is manufactured using eco-friendly refining agents instead of arsenic and antimony.
Same coefficient of thermal expansion as silicon
High temperature resistance of up to approx. 600 °C
Large sheet formats suited for 12” wafers
Low roughness due to fire-polished surface
Various thicknesses available
Tight thickness control
Easy to dice using a diamond saw
Manufactured without using the refining agents arsenic and antimony
