OKASOLAR™Fixed louvered windows to maximize light control

Control your sunlight

OKASOLAR™ insulated glass panels provide optimum light and heat control in industrial and commercial settings such as offices, atriums, airports, libraries, and houses of worship. OKASOLAR™ insulated glass is used for fixed louver windows that optically control light and heat transmission. The computer optimized positioning of the polished louvers diffuses light and directs heat in accordance with the elevation of the sun creating the optimal daylight control windows.

Dimensions and installation

OKASOLAR™ insulating glass for daylight control windows is installed like normal insulating glass. The temperature dependent movement of the OKASOLAR™ louver panel requires a small space between the panel and the spacers. To avoid direct light penetrating through the gap between the louver panel and the adjoining spacer bar of the insulating glass, unit edge cover must be a minimum of 15 mm (~19/32"). For widths and heights exceeding 2 m (~78"), the coverage must be increased to at least 20 mm (~25/32").

OKASOLAR® insulating glass with fixed louvers is available in vertical glazed and sloped glazed applications. The air space which contains the louvers is 22 mm (~7/8") for vertical glazings and 24 mm (~15/16") for sloped glazings. Glass lites are heatstrengthened, tempered or laminated. Solar performance can be enhanced with the addition of a low-E coating. We recommend the use of the OKASOLAR® insulating glass type that best complies with the requirements to be met and the installation situation (orientation, inclination) specified. OKASOLAR® S is recommended for roof glazing, as where OKASOLAR® F is best suited for facades.
