LED Cabin Lighting Redefined
SCHOTT® HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC
SCHOTT® HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC open a new chapter of cabin lighting design by combining the efficiency of LED technology with the homogeneous light output of fluorescent tubes.
Differing from conventional LED strips which work with a row of multiple LEDs, HelioJet relies only on two LEDs that guide the light into an optical light converter.
HelioJet SpectrumCC is based on an optical converter at the ends of which four LEDs, each in colors red, green, blue and white (RGBW), generate light. The CC (Color Control) technology allows the individual LEDs in the lighting system to be permanently monitored via a sensor technique.
The LED cabin lighting is marketed by SCHOTT and Lufthansa Technik.

Very homogeneous light distribution:
HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC work without the typical ”LED spots“ and thus enable very attractive light output.
Constant light stability:
HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC eliminate color shifts from aging LEDs. The optical light converter mixes inhomogeneous effects so that they are almost undetectable.
Controlled light output:
HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC enable adjustment of the light and aperture angle precisely. The light is no longer emitted in every direction. This offers new possibilities for precise lighting design solutions.

SCHOTT® HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC not only redefine the design options for LED cabin lighting, but they also contribute substantially to financial, maintenance, and ecological aspects.
SCHOTT® HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC use about 80% fewer diodes than conventional LED strips. This leads to significant improvements.
SCHOTT® HelioJet and HelioJet SpectrumCC are designed for use in new aircraft as well as for retrofit projects. The modular production concept provides high compatibility with different aircraft and operating systems.
SCHOTT® HelioJet SpectrumCC uses an active sensor technique for permanent monitoring of every individual LED.
Sixteen million different colors and white in various color temperatures are possible with SCHOTT® HelioJet SpectrumCC.
SCHOTT HelioJet SpectrumCC has been designed to work in the "nicemood cabin management system" from Lufthansa Technik.
The mean time between failure (MTBF) is about 50,000 OH, which substantially reduces maintenance efforts.
Also LEDs can be exchanged, enabling new maintenance systems that clearly support an ecologically-friendly approach.
The new lighting system has been tested with European, Far Eastern, and US-based airlines. In addition, it is totally compatible with all mechanical measures, installation and electronic interfaces.
