SPO Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I submit an offer for a particular tender? How does SCHOTT award contracts?
SCHOTT uses a prequalification process to select potential suppliers. Once certain criteria have been fulfilled, the supplier is entered into a supplier database. After that, the service company or supplier is selected according to the volume in the tender, and is requested to submit an offer.
Construction tenders with relevance to the EU are issued according to German construction contract regulations, VOB/A, based on the EU sectors directive.
Where can I find out about my result of the tender?
Up to now, SCHOTT has given information by telephone and only on request.
What is a DUNS number?
This is a uniform, worldwide supplier ID code that is issued by Dun & Bradstreet. The DUNS number is only issued once for each company, and is therefore unique; it applies worldwide and in any industry or discipline. With increasing globalisation in trade, increasing importance has been given to communications standards and uniform key codes; this is where the DUNS number comes into the picture. SCHOTT will use your DUNS number in all procurement processes involving your company.
DUNS number – what does it mean for you?
In case you do not already have a DUNS number, please apply for one. The entry for your company in the worldwide supplier network is free of charge. Follow this link to apply: Dun & Bradstreet
