Supply Chain Manager


The Job

The chosen candidate will be responsible for all aspects of material, goods and services, demand planning systems, logistics, warehousing, shipment, inventory management and provision of +99% OTIF service.

Typical responsibilities include:

-Directs and controls all materials activities including: Production planning, Material Control, Inventory Control, Warehouse and Shipping/Receiving.

-Develops and implements policies and procedures, material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials within Purchasing, Planning, and Production.

-Develop, communicate, and implement internal flow strategies that are consistent with long term business objectives. Assure global procurement system is functioning at most efficient capability.

-Provide leadership within the Supply Chain organization and within Operations in support of Lean practices.

-Ability to direct both a strong tactical procurement organization along with successfully implemented strategic supply chain solutions.

-Manage end to end, supplier selection, implementation strategy, and ongoing improvement across our value added supply base that drives the highest level of service to our customer base.

-Negotiate agreements and manage ongoing contracts & relationships with strategic suppliers.

-Communicate effectively with both internal clients and internal/external suppliers with a commitment to +99% on time order fulfillment.

-Drive process improvements in the area of demand/commit, cost reduction planning, supply chain flexibility and data management.

-Define and manage appropriate key performance metrics related to supply chain execution.

-Proactively researches all major commodities for trends in supply, price volatility and any factors that can adversely affect costs, and provides strategic solutions to Management.

-Ensures, by working closely with the Product Development group, that packaging materials selected for new products are, complimentary to our existing inventory, suitable for purpose and the most cost effective available.

-Integrate and lead the team, ensuring a robust Supply Chain.

-Provide people leadership; fostering an environment that enhances personal growth and career development through mentoring and training; performance management, and challenging the organization to strive for higher performance levels.

-Manage continuous improvement projects in the Supply Chain using the latest best practices to improve products and processes including ABC Analysis, Commodity Management, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Supplier Development Programs, etc. These initiatives should contribute to on-going cost and quality improvements.

-Provide insights and guidance to all departments on the best methods to procure parts to achieve high quality, on-time delivery and lowest cost.

-Develop key metrics and ensure continuous improvement to metrics over time.


The Qualifications

-7+ years experience with progressive supply chain responsibility, with at least 2+ years in supply chain / materials management role.

-B.S. in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related Business degree.

-The ideal candidate will have CSCM or CSCP certification.

-Must have MRP systems knowledge, preferrably SAP.

-Must have experience working in a lean manufacturing environment, preferrably with certification in Six Sigma or other lean manufacturing tools.
