Technical Specialist (PLC Expert)

The Job

The successful candidates will provide technical process support to the CSP receiver and PV module manufacturing operations. He or she will be responsible for leading technical support for complex equipment maintenance and repair including automation technology with programmable logic controllers. This job will involve hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and fixing machinery. The following responsibilities are included:

•Providing broad services to automated equipment in full support of manufacturing.
•Managing contacts to equipment vendors regarding automation technology.
•Troubleshooting and debugging PLC code for controlling automated equipment.
•Maintaining and repairing data acquisition equipment including optical instruments.
•Coordinating new equipment installation and qualification and ongoing equipment maintenance.
•Monitoring and improving equipment availability.
•Optimizing measurement methods and instrumentation technology.
•Training and leading maintenance and production personnel.

Some international travel may be required.

The Qualifications

Qualifications include an Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technnology or equivalent experience. A minimum of five to ten years of experience in production of alternative energy products or a related field is required. Knowledge of PLC (Siemens SIMATIC Step 7), instrumentation technology, and Machine Execution System (MES) are strongly preferred. Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and other PC software is helpful. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate, lead and train are required.
