Kris Koch, Operations Manager for the Syringe Business at SCHOTT, and other plant employees welcomed Congressman Dent, a member of the House Appropriations and Ethics Committees. Dent is also a principal member of the German-American Caucus in Congress, which focuses on strengthening cultural and economic ties between the United States and Germany. The caucus specifically aims to unite U.S. and German businesses, like SCHOTT, and encourage investments in America.

SCHOTT provided Congressman Dent with an overview of pharmaceutical packaging as he toured the plant, showcasing the stages of vial and syringe production, including glass forming, visual inspection, the syringe wash line, and packing. As one of only two companies to produce high-quality, ready-to-fill syringes in the United States, SCHOTT demonstrated to Dent its continued investment in Lebanon as a high-end production site.

SCHOTT employees also discussed the recently established electro-mechanic technician apprenticeship program, which trains novices in highly technical packaging jobs. Employees also thanked Dent for his leadership in Congress in urging relief from onerous tariffs. This initiative allows SCHOTT’s Lebanon plant to remain competitive and productive, and in turn grow its workforce.

“American manufacturing is alive and well, and we're proud to demonstrate to Congressman Dent the contributions companies like SCHOTT make to industry and local economies,” said Operations Manager Kris Koch. “Now is the time to invest in the future of U.S. manufacturing, and we thank the Congressman for visiting our facility, supporting our district and working diligently in Washington to foster economic opportunity. We hope this visit helps him further understand the efforts companies like ours are making to create jobs and close the skills gap, as well as advancing manufacturing of high value products that are in demand globally."
