SMARTBIM, LLC and SCHOTT Announce Creation, Publication, and Distribution of BIM Objects for KIMAX® Glass Piping
Product to be demonstrated at 2010 ASPE Engineered Plumbing Exposition
October 28, 2010 (Elmsford, NY) – SCHOTT Tubing and SMARTBIM, LLC announced today that SMARTBIM, LLC has created and will distribute the catalogue of SCHOTT KIMAX® Glass Piping products as virtual BIM (Building Information Modeling) objects for use in various 3D design and build software suites, including Autodesk Revit® MEP.
“SMARTBIM Object Creation for BIM software will enrich building plans for engineers, architects, and designers across the construction industry,” said Patrick Frazier, SCHOTT Tubing product manager. “Being able to represent the KIMAX catalogue in software programs like this places SCHOTT on the cutting edge of virtual building modeling, thus further streamlining our product line’s integration into building specifications, schematics, and master plans.”
As has been the case for over 40 years, SCHOTT’s KIMAX Borosilicate Glass Drainline offers one of the lowest life-cycle costs on the market. Easily reconfigurable to meet changing lab requirements, it provides maximum corrosion resistance and the lowest relative thermal expansion of all competitive materials. Also, because of KIMAX’s low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), drainline systems that use it are environmentally responsible and when combined with KOCH KNIGHTWARE Neutralization Sumps can provide on-site wastewater treatment and acid neutralization.
