SCHOTT Solar Announces New Line of Black Frame Modules
February 10, 2011 (Albuquerque, NM) – SCHOTT Solar PV, Inc. (SCHOTT Solar) announced a new line of black frame polycrystalline photovoltaic modules to meet its rapidly growing residential market in the United States. The black Poly 2xx series modules are made with a black anodized aluminum frame and white backing sheet. They are available in power ratings of 220/225/230/235 watts with conversion efficiencies of up to 14%.
The new black modules are targeted at applications where aesthetic appeal is important in the system design, particularly in the residential solar market.
“Black frame modules more closely complement residential rooftop installations—they blend in better. Our customers have been increasingly requesting the same high-quality SCHOTT Solar modules in black,” said Mukesh Shah, Product Management Director for SCHOTT Solar PV, Inc. “I’m happy to announce today that we can now answer the demand with a product that looks as good as it works.”
The SCHOTT Poly 2xx series modules are compatible with microinverters and DC power optimizers which are growing in acceptance in the North American markets. The new product line will be available for delivery beginning in late March or early April and will carry the same 25 year warranty currently offered on all SCHOTT Solar Poly 2xx modules.
