Product Description
SCHOTT manufactures advanced fuze components, cutting devices, actuators, squibs and igniter products, which set new standards for reliability in military supplies. Our ordnance products are typically used to initiate explosive devices. These can range from advanced weapons applications to pyrotechnics used in military countermeasures or theatrical displays. The equally strict glass-to-metal specifications apply to the products we manufacture for use in our ordnance products.

Product Advantages

In addition to the unmatched precision and reliability of its products, SCHOTT Electronic Packaging also has the capacity for high volume production, including lapping of bridgewire surfaces for electronic fuses, initiators, and components for squibs.
With the experience we have accumulated over the last decades, we are also able to offer to customers our unique know-how of working with exotic metals.
Applications
Our advanced components are used in miniature explosives, parachute explosives, ejector seats and countermeasure pyro-flares. For instance, our components can be found in the ejector seat mechanism used in the European Fighter Aircraft program. Other applications include squibs, igniters, pyrotechnics and cutting devices.
Technology
We have accumulated many years of experience manufacturing GTMS for a variety of industries. Hence, we have developed advanced engineering technology and excellent understanding of the requirements and needs of various applications. Therefore, we are able to create products that would employ its own proprietary technology and also achieve PSI ratings which are often much higher than that found in other industries.
