Capillary Arrays

COHERENT CAPILLARY ARRAYS

Linear and Plate Formats

All SCHOTT Arrays are Manufactured to Customer Specifications

Applications

SCHOTT Fiber Optics offers high precision, coherent glass capillary arrays in linear and plate formats.

Linear and Plate Array Configurations Without Interstitial EMA
  • Energetic Particle Detector Systems
  • Liquid-Filled Fiber Systems
  • Focusing / Collimating Components
  • Neutron Channeling Components
  • Biotechnology Micro Pore Components
  • Telecommunication Alignment Components

Development Activities

Development continues in optimizing higher length-to-diameter ratios and increased cross-sectional areas within the arrays. Pore geometry and packing patterns can be customized.

Linear Arrays

Linear arrays consist of close-packed pattern with individual pore sizes ranging from 50 microns up to 1 mm. For optical applications they can be supplied with absorbing fibers (EMA) to reduce optical cross talk.

Plate Arrays

Shown With and Without Absorbing Fibers (EMA)
Plate arrays are produced by etching processes with precisely-aligned pores from 10 microns to 1 mm.
