Heating Systems

Possible heating systems for CERAN®

SCHOTT is committed to the technological development of trendsetting advances for ranges topped with CERAN® cooking surfaces. The right choice strictly depends on cookign habits, personal preferences, and the budget consumers want to spend on their glass-ceramic cooktop.

CERAN® with radiant electric heating system
Radiant electric heat is the most commonly used heating technology. It is easily recognizable by the red glowing cooking zones. It provides – amongst others – the advantages of the use of residual heat, easy cleaning, and energy-saving cooking.
If a gas connection is also available, it is possible to combine electric burners and open flame gas burners on one cooktop.

CERAN® with induction technology
With induction heating, the heat originates only directly at the bottom of the pot. Cookware used with induction systems must have ferromagnetic bottoms. Induction technology provides the advantages of very precise temperature control, heats up fast and cools down quickly, and is, on top, very easy to clean and safe.

CERAN® with gas technology
Gas heating in the form of an open burner with a CERAN® cooktop panel is also possible. Many cooks swear by this kind of cooking. Gas enables cooking on a high level of precision and reacts very quickly to changes of the temperature – similar to the heating technology of induction.

CERAN® with radiant halogen heating system
Radiant halogen heating units offer the advantage that the heating units are heated immediately upon being turned on.
