SCHOTT CERAN® cooktop panels – It is a must for modern kitchens and the original among all glass-ceramic cooktop panels.
With more than 110 million CERAN® glass-ceramic cooktop panels produced and more than 40 years of experience in optimizing the complete cooking system, SCHOTT has set new standards for modern kitchens.
The advantages of glass-ceramic cooktop panels are now available in a new appliance. The CERAN® contact grill panel offers a practical and healthy alternative to conventional outdoor barbecues. If you are particularly fond of barbecues, you no longer need to wait for your favorite dish until the charcoal is glowing. Barbecuing on the CERAN® contact grill panel complies with your appetite. Handling is quite simple. To turn on this new grill, you only need a domestic power source. Without much preheating, the CERAN® grill panel reaches the necessary temperature within two minutes. And cleaning is child's play. Anything burnt on can be scraped off easily with a cleaning scraper without switching off the grill. (For your safety please wear a pot mitten.) This is particularly handy when you cook fish first and follow it with meat or vegetables.
The German Nutrition Association considers food preparation on electric grills particularly beneficial due to health and safety reasons. When grilling with CERAN®, there are no hot embers for the fat to drop onto – with all of the associated undesirable consequences. Food can be gently browned at a controllable temperature, and surplus fat is simply scraped into the channel provided for that purpose.
Many accidents can be avoided by using the CERAN® contact grill panel, because, unlike charcoal-fired barbecues, with the CERAN® contact grill there is no danger of fire by flying embers. There are no ashes either which take a long time to cool down, and this makes the new grill equipped with CERAN® particularly attractive for use in the garden or on the balcony.
Campers and boat owners only need a 200-volt power supply to be able to enjoy the new grill's advantages. The contact grill operates at 2500 watts and has plenty of spare capacity to cook even large quantities of food from cold. The temperature can be controlled just as easily to suit either a delicate fish fillet or a huge steak. The edge area is not heated and can be used to store cooked food, ready for serving
A new type of appliance makes cooks mobile. Now the convenience of cooking with CERAN® is also possible outside the kitchen. Spurred on by SCHOTT initiatives and basic developments, range manufacturers have developed portable tabletop appliances topped with CERAN®, which only need to be connected to a power source. These tabletop appliances are available with either one or two cooking zones for cooking and frying using pots and pans.
Offering the well-known advantages of cooking on CERAN®, the new portable tabletop appliances represent an interesting alternative to conventional single hotplates. All the things the user appreciates in a CERAN® cooktop panel – attractive looks, flat and pore-free surface, easy cleaning – can also be found in these new tabletop appliances. Safety is ensured by clearly visible heating rings and by residual heat indicator lamp, which stays on until the cooking zone has cooled down and is safe to touch. Their elegant design makes the new cooktops pleasant to look at both in the kitchen and on the dining table. CERAN® cooktop panels are available in various patterns and therefore blend well with their respective surroundings.
Portable tabletop appliances are particularly suitable for office or workshop kitchens and for apartments without complete kitchen facilities, such as student dorms and senior citizen homes, and also for recreational vehicles or boats and for patios or balconies.
Portable tabletop cooking appliances topped with CERAN® are as good-looking as they are practical for preparing food and keeping it hot either on the dining table or for a buffet. For a fondue party in a cozy round, for a dessert of hot crepes straight from the pan – the new cooktop eliminates the need for running back and forth between the range and the table.
"Eating is as important as heaven" is an old Chinese proverb which illustrates the major role eating plays in the lives of Asian people. Since this Asian philosophy is increasingly gaining ground in the western world, the wok, as the most frequently used Asian cooking utensil, has naturally gained some importance. To help gourmets in successfully preparing sophisticated oriental delicacies with the ease of accustomed western standards, SCHOTT has developed the CERAN Wok® Appliance.
To offer the home appliance industry a choice of solutions, SCHOTT has developed the CERAN Wok® as a tabletop appliance and as a built-in appliance for induction heating. Asian-style cooking in the CERAN Wok® Appliance means that only the ingredients needing the most heat come into contact with the hottest spot in the middle of the wok. The other ingredients cook at a lower temperature around the edges.
