How DURAN^® is made

Preparing the raw materials

Procuring raw materials of consistently high quality and precisely monitoring these qualities have its advantages. Both guarantee our customers optimum DURAN® quality. The quality of all raw materials is inspected, and no materials are used in the batch until they have been approved by the incoming materials inspectors. Preparation of the batch is fully automated using extremely accurate weighing machines and automatically controlled transport and mixing equipment. After the addition of a quantity of DURAN® cullet, which assists the melting process, the batch and the cullet are fed into the melting tanks, which run continuously.
