Tapers - Image Minification or Magnification

A fiber optic Taper is a coherent fiber optic component that transmits either a magnified or minified image from its input surface. SCHOTT’s Tapers provide a method of magnifying or reducing an image in image transfer applications.

All Tapers are fabricated to customer specific requirements and can be machined into configurations from round to round, square to square, round to square or rectangular.

SCHOTT can bond Tapers to chips for sensor and display applications in addition to bonding multiple Tapers together to form bonded coherent Taper Arrays.

Typical applications include Image Magnification or Minification, Image Coupling to CCD or CMOS Devices, Intensified Video Imaging, Biological Imaging, Displays and Avionics.

Fused fiber optic Tapers can be bonded To chips or sensors for displays such as HMD and HUD imaging. Custom Tapers are manufactured for a wide variety of imaging such as a microdisplay.
All items herein are controlled by International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
