09-17-2007, SCHOTT North America Inc., Jena, Germany New nitrocellulose-coated protein microarray slides from SCHOTT and Sartorius Stedim Biotech Group |
| SCHOTT’s product group Nexterion Microarray Solutions has joined forces with the Sartorius Stedim Biotech Group, to launch a range of innovative nitrocellulose-coated protein microarray slides. Protein microarrays are playing an increasing important role in proteomic research, as well as moving into the arenas of drug discovery and clinical diagnostics. For many protein microarrays users the slide surface of choice is nitrocellulose due to its 3-dimensional micro-porous structure. To meet the needs of this rapidly expanding market, a range of Nexterion® NC slides from SCHOTT will be available from October 2007.
Alistair Rees, SCHOTT’s Microarray Product Manager commented “Sartorius Stedim Biotech is the perfect co-development partner for this product range, as nitrocellulose formulations from Sartorius Stedim have proven their reliability over the years in diagnostic membranes as well as for Western Blots. Sartorius Stedim’s nitrocellulose membrane production expertise has been combined with SCHOTT’s glass production know-how to produce slides of superior quality, and high reproducibility.”
The new SCHOTT Nexterion® nitrocellulose-coated slides are available in either a single, or 16-pad format on a standard microarray glass slides.
