Radiation Resistant 47ARH Faceplates

SCHOTT's Fiber Optic 47ARH Faceplates are produced using a core glass which substantially improves radiation resistance, yet retains the properties required for use as windows in image intensifier tubes, medical and industrial x-ray and similar applications. Faceplates made with 47ARH material can withstand exposures of up to 100 rads of x-radiation, without significant darkening.

Fused Fiber Optic Faceplates

Image Inverters; Step Plates; Radius Plates; Strip Plates; Hydrogen-fired Plates

SCHOTT's Fiber Optic Faceplates are used for high resolution, zero thickness image transfer in applications that include CCD coupling, CRT / LCD displays, image intensification, remote viewing, field flattening and x-ray imaging. In opto-electronic applications, faceplates are used as both input and output image intensifier windows.

All SCHOTT Faceplates are fabricated to customer-specific requirements. Typical customized shapes range from round to rectangular and vary in sizes up to 150 mm in diameter; typical element sizes range from as small as 4.0 µm up to 25 µm or larger; numerical apertures (NA) are available in a 0.35, 0.58, 0.68 and 1.0 design. Faceplates are manufactured to be vacuum tight for intensifier tube applications. They are also manufactured with various coefficients of thermal expansion to meet customer sealing needs.
