Image Conduit for Image Transmission
SCHOTT Lighting and Imaging rigid image conduits are comprised by a large number of glass fiber, fused together in a two step draw process. The Image Conduit retrieves an image from one end of a rigid fiber optic rod and displays that image on the opposite rod end. Standard image conduit is supplied with ground and polished ends.
By heating, versatile image conduit can be readily bent to conform to any prescribed path with minimal transmission loss.
The SCHOTT Lighting and Imaging standard product line has diameters of 1/16", 1/8", and 1/4" with element sizes of 25 µm, 50 µm, and 100 µm. Our standard high-resolution models have element sizes of 12 µm and 24 µm with diameters of 1/8" and 1/4". Numerical aperture is typically; .64.
