Looking back is often much like taking an educational journey through time. The establishment of the Otto Schott Research Center 25 years ago shows us what research and innovation once meant – and where schott stands today. We are still fully aware of the relationship that exists between innovation and growth. Thinking beyond the limitations of our current capabilities as well as the continuous advancement of our products and processes comprise our formula for growth.
At the same time, however, our values also include taking entrepreneurial responsibility. In this sense, the Foundation Statute of the Carl Zeiss Foundation that celebrated its 125th anniversary this year is still in tune with the times and impressively proves that it is possible to successfully combine acting responsibly with growth and innovation. Sustained continued development is only possible by engaging in extensive exchanges on the needs of our customers, partners and society.
The many innovative examples discussed in this edition of our technology magazine clearly demonstrate that this close connection is successful both internally and externally and that our leading technologies and materials facilitate progress and help to design the future.
We wish you enjoyable reading.
