SCHOTT introduces TopPac® 20 ml prefillable polymer syringe for infusion therapy
TopPac syringes increase patient safety while saving practitioners time and reducing pharmaceutical manufacturing expenses
SCHOTT expanded its range of TopPac polymer syringes to include a 20 milliliter (ml) format that can be used in combination with syringe pumps for infusion therapy. SCHOTT TopPac® prefillable syringes (PFS) simplify the infusion therapy preparation process and can ultimately reduce costs for pharmaceutical companies and health care facilities. With this move, SCHOTT is enhancing its portfolio of large volume syringes for intensive care, which already includes 10 ml and 50 ml formats. SCHOTT TopPac PFS are available in the sizes 1 to 50 ml, and will be on display at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Antonio, Texas on November 11 to 14, 2013 at booth #4209. SAN ANTONIO, Texas—November 11, 2013—SCHOTT today unveiled SCHOTT Vials DC, which further minimize the risk of glass delamination. The company optimized its manufacturing process to ensure that SCHOTT Vials DC have a more homogeneous surface and high chemical stability, and tests the vials using the SCHOTT Delamination Quicktest, a first-of-its-kind, patented test method that documents a container’s tendency toward delamination. For the first time ever, SCHOTT has developed threshold values that it can monitor over the course of the manufacturing process to control and minimize the risk of delamination. SCHOTT Vials DC will be available as 2R to 10R ISO vials starting at the beginning of 2014, and will be on display at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Antonio, Texas on November 11 to 14, 2013 at booth #4209. SCHOTT today introduced its adaptiQ™ system for ready-to-use pharmaceutical vials, which allows for more flexible manufacturing concepts and more efficient filling. Designed in close collaboration with filling line manufacturers to meet the pharmaceutical industry’s process requirements, SCHOTT adaptiQ consists of a patented nest that securely holds as many as 100 clean and sterile vials in an industry standard tub. The pharmaceutical company can then immediately fill these vials on its filling lines without having to perform arduous processing steps like washing, drying, and sterilization. SCHOTT to strengthen pharmaceutical site in Hungary
Lukácsháza/Hungary, Mainz/Germany, June 6, 2013 – SCHOTT Pharmaceutical Systems has announced plans to significantly expand its Hungarian site Lukácsháza that manufactures pharmaceutical primary packaging. Investments in the mid-double-digit million euro range are planned from now until 2016. The first step will be to open a new maintenance facility for overhauling and upgrading production machines that will create more than 30 new jobs in the Lukácsháza region. In addition, production capacity should continue to increase in Hungary over the next few years. More
