1973 start of silicon octagon EFG development within Mobil Tyco. From 1980 Mobil Solar Energy Corporation. On the takeover and foundation of ASE Americas by ASE GmbH in 1994 this company already had many years of experience in the production of wafers, cells and modules. 2002 renamed to RWE SCHOTT Solar Inc. Since end of 2005, it has been a subsidiary of SCHOTT Solar GmbH and is now trading under the name SCHOTT Solar, Inc.
