At the Jena site in Thuringia, Germany Here where SCHOTT was founded, 60 million Euro have been invested to construct plant for the production of SCHOTT Solar GmbH thin-film solar power modules using amorphous silicon. In the first phase, production capacity will be to the order of over 30 MW per year. The plant is scheduled for commissioning in autumn 2007. The Jena site handles four promising SCHOTT business units - Advanced Materials, Display Glass, Home Tech and now Solar.
