SCHOTT donates EUR 23,000 in aid to help the victims of the Typhoon in the Philippines
Mainz, March 20, 2014. Typhoon Haiyan decimated the Philippines last November. SCHOTT AG employees and the company itself collected EUR 23,029.32 in donations together to help with the reconstruction effort by holding a fundraising campaign. During a company assembly that was held today, the Chairman of the Works Council, Wolfgang Heinrich, and Hans-Peter Langer, Head of Personnel for the SCHOTT Group, presented a check in this amount to Dr. Michael de Frênes, Head of the Malteser in the diocese of Mainz, and Dr. Kai Kronfeld, Managing Director of the Malteser in Mainz. These donations will be put toward a rebuilding project sponsored by Malteser International in a village on the island of Bantayan. The funds will help to provide 13 families with new places to live. More
