SCHOTT Honored as “Best Partner” by Leading Chinese Chip Manufacturer Phograin

Phograin honored strategic partners during Global Partner Event at CIOE trade show

SCHOTT was one of the few overseas companies to receive this distinguished award

SCHOTT intends to strengthen its partnership with Phograin and support their optical components used in 5G telecommunication with high-speed TO packaging products
Phograin, China’s leading optical chip manufacturer, invited the technology group SCHOTT to attend their global partner celebration event held at the China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE). At this event, Phograin honored their best strategic partners. SCHOTT was one of the few overseas companies to receive this distinguished award. SCHOTT is a supplier of TO header and cap products to Phograin for their optical devices. Mr Xu, R&D Manager of Phograin, commented: “We are very happy to partner with SCHOTT to develop high quality products that meets the stringent requirement of the telecommunication and datacommunication applications.”

Phograin is a high-tech Chinese company that develops and manufactures optical photodiodes, chips, and optical sensors. Their photodiode chips have a broad range of applications, including optical communication, data centers, 3D imaging, near-infrared photography, and autonomous driving, among others. Recently, Phograin introduced 10G APD chips used in optical modules for 5G telecommunication.

With the emergence of “Made in China 2025” and other national strategies, a new generation of information technology – such as edge computing, IoT, and Intelligent Mobile terminals – is rapidly developing in China. The optoelectronics industry has gained unprecedented market opportunity due to its important supporting role in these initiatives, and its industry scale continues to expand. Domestic chip manufacturers also have strong support from the government. Phograin will continue to expand its chip packaging and testing capacities to meet customers’ order requirements. SCHOTT is optimistic about Phograin’s future developments and is looking forward to continued cooperation, including support of their 5G telecommunications and other opto-electronic applications.
