History

The Electronic Packaging business of SCHOTT Japan Corporation was originally established in 2000 as NEC SCHOTT Components Corporation – a joint venture company between SCHOTT AG in Germany and NEC Corporation in Japan. 

In December 2017, SCHOTT purchased the remaining shares in the joint venture from NEC Corporation. Since then, the company has been conducting business activities as a fully-owned SCHOTT subsidiary under the new name SCHOTT Japan Corporation, Minakuchi (Japan)

SCHOTT Japan Corporation’s Electronic Packaging business unit is one of Japan’s leading electronic component manufacturers for glass-to-metal seals and thermal fuses. Key applications for these products include electronic devices, consumer electronics, automotive systems and optoelectronics.
