Product Description

A yaw rate sensor detects how fast a vehicle is turning on its own axes and whether, for example, it has started skidding or overturning. Crash sensors pick up on the kind of changes typical of accidents, such as vibration and sudden braking. The components of these sensors are extremely sensitive and require effective protection.

These sensors, which are generally installed in a vehicle’s interior in either the B-pillar or headliner, are extremely sensitive and must be effectively protected to enable continuously reliable operation. Glass-to-metal sealed feedthroughs provide the sensors with power while simultaneously sealing them hermetically.


Glass-to-metal sealed feedthroughs hermetically seal components, thus ensuring that the long-term accuracy and precision of these sensitive electronic components is maintained. The current feedthroughs can be used for nearly all common sensor models and are manufactured according to customer requirements.


Rotation speed sensors are necessary for controlling and activating the electronic stability control unit (ESC). In the USA, the use of ESCs in new vehicles are required since 2011.

Other areas of potential application include navigation systems, where gyro sensors can provide data, for example, on navigating corners in the absence of satellite signals when maneuvering through tunnels etc.
