Magic moments in Hamburg’s concert hall
Glass not only inspired the exterior architecture of the fascinating Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg. Inside the building, semi-transparent MIRONA® glass from SCHOTT creates magical moments. Used in 32 porthole-like wall displays, the mineral glass coated on both sides initially appears like a decorative mirror. However, when the hidden TV monitors are switched on, the interference layers allow the light radiation of the TV images to pass through. MIRONA® then transforms into a screen surface for the transmission of visual information.
