Optical component maker SCHOTT Suisse SA celebrates anniversary
When Eric Guinchard first opened up a glass processing company in his garage in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, in 1968, he had no idea of how successful it would be. During the two-day anniversary celebration, the 88 yearold looked back on the past 40 years with pride. Today, the company trades under the name SCHOTT Suisse SA and has gained a reputation as an internationally recognized specialist in precise optical components. Over 150 employees process some 250 optical glasses, as well as materials, such as quartz and sapphires, using advanced technology and their traditional recipe for success: to always remain flexible and innovative and listen to what the customer says.
