ZERODUR®: Things are heating up
Our ZERODUR® melting tank returns to service January 7, 2014, as our routinely scheduled shutdown comes to a close
After a few months of hard work, SCHOTT Advanced Optics is excited to announce that we have completed the routine refurbishment of our ZERODUR® melting tank. This planned and scheduled maintenance is a routine part of the ZEODUR® production process, occurring every few years depending on the demand-driven melting volume. The first melt of the new tank has been successfully completed on January 7, 2014, and marks the beginning of a very productive manufacturing run.
The melting tank is a key part of our sizable ZERODUR® production facility, which is capable of addressing our customers’ needs without difficulty. This includes IC and LCD Lithography and industrial application-driven demands. We will also be able to assume the estimated manufacturing requirements of the European Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) project without any added strain or delays to our regular production.
SCHOTT Advanced Optics is proud of the work completed by our refurbishment team, as the group’s dedication and diligence allowed us to return to production in a timely fashion.
