Glass bends made from DURAN® are suitable for pneumatic conveying systems due to their specific material features.
DURAN® glass tubing bends are extremely robust, solid and durable, because of this they are a suitable alternative to materials such as stainless steel in the field of pneumatic conveying systems. When using stainless steel, the conveyed substances contaminate quite quickly due to abrasion and erosion of the material. Whereas glass can prevent this kind of contamination due to its high resistance to abrasive substances and therefore can achieve a ten-time longer service lifespan compared to stainless steel. Additionally the glass allows transparency enabling easier control of conveyed materials.
SCHOTT glass bends are available in a wide range of dimensions and with bend angles of 45° and 90°. For reliable protection against uncontrolled electrostatic discharge, all tubing includes copper conductive tape.
