By means of the so called down draw technology, SCHOTT produces glass in thicknesses less than 100 micrometers – which is thinner than a human hair. This glass is flexible and stable at the same time.
Furthermore, the international technology group can roll its ultrathin glass in a smallest radius – it can be literally wrapped around a finger. With this technology, SCHOTT paves the way for the next generation of devices – ultrathin glass rolled in such a challenging geometry can easily be integrated in industrial processes and applications, in which only polymer have been used so far. The future has begun!
